If you suffer from herniated or deteriorated discs, then spinal decompression could be for you. It is a noninvasive, non-surgical procedure that gently stretches the spine, decompressing the spine, relieving pressure on the discs, releasing trapped nerves and helps reduce pain.

It is designed to not only reduce pain, but also help get patients back to doing the things they loved to do prior to the condition. It’s a very effective way of treating back pain and sciatica.

It has been proven effective in pain relief caused by disc herniations, sciatica, failed back surgery and degenerative disc disease. The studies have shown significant success rates in treating all these conditions with spinal decompression.

Utilizing state of the art technology, the spine is gently stretched, providing decompression of the joints thus allowing relief and release of pressure on the joints and nerves, ultimately reducing pain.

Chiropractic care can also help patients suffering with headaches, repetitive strains, and sciatica. It is noninvasive, efficient and proven effective at treating joint pain. If you suffer pain from any of the above conditions, come in and talk to us. If we can’t help you, we will do our best to refer you to a doctor who can.

Neck and Back Pain:

Statistics show that almost 80% of the population will experience back pain in their backs during their lifetime with over 50% the population experiencing 10 episodes or more of back pain. When neck pain is added in the number is closer to 100%. Over 149 million days of work are lost a year as is an astronomical amount of lost earnings: between estimated to be between $100 -200 billion/year. Back pain can be attributed to a multitude of factors: sedentary lifestyle, too much or too little exercise, weight management, occupation, trauma, and sitting at desks or in vehicles for prolonged periods of time. Often pain is the result of a combination of these and other factors. Chiropractic care has been shown to be extraordinarily effective at reducing or eliminating neck and back pain.

Sciatica:

Pain that starts in the low back and radiates down the back of the thigh into the leg and foot is called Sciatica. It can even cause one or both of your feet to start to feel numb. Sciatica, like back pain, has many causes: The sciatic nerves starts in the spine and runs down the back of the thigh before branching down into the leg and foot. If the spine is out of alignment, or there is a problem with the disc in that area, it can trigger sciatic pain. Sciatica can also be caused when muscles surrounding the nerve go into spasm. The most common causes of sciatica have been shown to respond well to chiropractic adjustments and rehabilitative exercise.

Chiropractors approach patient care in a similar manner to that used in conventional medicine. They interview the patient, obtain a detailed health history, perform an examination, tests, and develop a working diagnosis. They then construct a management plan, implement treatment, and monitor the patient’s progress. Chiropractors often treat problems related to the musculoskeletal system.

The manual treatment methods used by chiropractors range from stretching and sustained pressure to specific joint manipulations, which are usually delivered by hand and involve a quick and gentle thrust. The purpose of the manipulations is to improve joint motion and function. Manipulations are most commonly done on the spine, but other parts of the body may also be treated in this way.
